Our lab focuses on the intersection of wilderness spaces, wild species, and humans practicing modern industrial civilization. Through our research practice we seek to make positive contributions to solving environmental challenges using multiple disciplinary lenses including, ecology, wildlife conservation, indigenous geographies, Black geographies, and political ecology.

Currently our research projects revolve around several iconic wildlife species – the California condor (top photograph) and the American Buffalo (below) – as well as wild food (juneberries pictured above) in the Appalachian region of North America.
